Troy's Take

Tibet Kitchen on Gammon by Woodman's is some of the best and most authentic Asian food I have had in Madison. Nothing fancy. Just damn good food that comes out so hot we had to wait a minute to dig in.

Chicken momos pan-fried, which is the move for me. Massive dumplings, light brown sear on the sides, red sauce on the side. I mixed a little soy into that red sauce and it was spot on. Bigger and doughier than gyoza, with incredible flavor.

I got beef thenthuk stir fry. Thick noodles, thick pasty sauce. Wish I went chicken for that sauce, but I still finished the whole thing. Wife got pork belly chili stir fry at the highest spice and I ate more of hers than she did. Dense flavor, portions ridiculous.

Extremely satisfied. Fresh, authentic, exactly what you want when you are hunting a new Asian spot on the west side. Go check out Tibet Kitchen.

  • Right next to Woodman's on Gammon. Casual, nothing fancy, piping hot food.
  • Momos available steamed or pan-fried. I prefer pan-fried.
  • Portions are massive. Highest spice level was still not crazy hot.
