Tibet Kitchen
Tibet Kitchen on Gammon is the real authentic deal
703 S Gammon Rd, Madison, WI
Tibet Kitchen is right next to Woodman's on Gammon. Nothing fancy, just some of the best and most authentic Asian food I've had in Madison. Our food came out so hot we had to wait a minute before digging in.
If you're hunting a new west-side spot with huge portions and real flavor, put this one on your list.

What we ordered
We started with chicken momos, pan-fried. I got beef thenthuk stir fry, and my wife got pork belly chili stir fry at the highest spice level. The portions were ridiculous.
My thoughts on the food
The momos were massive, bigger and doughier than gyoza, with a light brown sear on the sides. That's why I pick pan-fried over steamed. They came with a red sauce, and mixing a little soy into it was spot on. Incredible flavor.
My beef thenthuk had thick noodles and a thick, pasty sauce. I wish I'd picked chicken with that sauce, but I still finished the whole thing. My wife's pork belly chili stir fry had dense flavor, and I ate more of hers than she did. Even at the highest spice level, it wasn't crazy hot.
The verdict
Fresh, authentic, piping hot, and extremely satisfying. This is exactly what I want when I try a new Asian spot on the west side. Go check out Tibet Kitchen, and get those momos pan-fried.
