The review
Troy's Take
Madison's newest Italian restaurant opened at Hilldale, and you should grab a reservation. The ambiance is a perfect date night vibe. Massive bar, dim and comfortable inside.
Appetizer was focaccia with rosemary, garlic, and salt. Soft, fluffy, savory, with oil and balsamic on the side. I loved the salt on top.
Entrees: hot honey and prosciutto pizza plus spicy rigatoni. The pizza was the star. Perfect crust, not too floppy, sweet and salty from the honey. Easily a contender for one of the better pizzas in Madison. The spicy rigatoni had a great kick, but I liked the pizza more.
Affogato for dessert (vanilla ice cream with an espresso shot poured over). Old Fashioned was great too. Prices were not crazy. Overall incredible. North Italia in Hilldale is worth the reservation.

Good to know
- Soft opening tasted before the September 2, 2026 grand opening. Kitchen was still getting early reps and the food still slapped.
- Reservations recommended. Walk-ins possible but expect it to be busy.
- Hilldale has plenty else nearby if you want to make a night of it.
