North Italia at Hilldale is a date night win

Madison's newest Italian restaurant is at Hilldale, and you better grab a reservation. This place is going to stay packed.
The ambiance is a perfect date night vibe. Massive bar, dim on the inside, comfortable. Just a great spot to sit down.

What we ordered
Focaccia with rosemary, garlic, and salt for the appetizer. Hot honey and prosciutto pizza and spicy rigatoni for entrees. Affogato for dessert. I got an Old Fashioned, my wife got wine.
My thoughts on the food
That focaccia was very fresh. Soft, fluffy, and I loved the salt on top. Comes with oil and balsamic. Some people might call it too salty. I am a salt freak, so I thought it was great.
The pizza blew me away. One of the managers said this was the first week of the kitchen really getting reps, and it was still really good. Crust perfectly done, not too much flop, honey giving that sweet and salty mix. Contender for one of the better pizzas in Madison.
Spicy rigatoni had a real kick. I liked it, but between the two, pizza wins.
Affogato is one of my favorite desserts ever. Vanilla ice cream, espresso shot poured in, mix and go. Old Fashioned was great too.
The verdict
Overall this entire experience was incredible. Prices are not too bad, food is really good, ambiance is great, and Hilldale has plenty else nearby. North Italia in Hilldale. Make the reservation and go check it out.
