Troy's Take

Every time I post a burger review somebody says Badger Tavern. Not that it's the best burger on earth, but that it's one of the most consistent burgers in Madison. Off Seminole Highway. Classic Wisconsin bar, pull tabs, beer, people whipping up food behind the bar.

I got a bacon cheeseburger for $13 with pepper jack and pickled jalapenos, cooked medium. Soft bun, salty crispy-ended bacon, seasoned patty. Better than a lot of burgers I've reviewed.

Pickled jalapenos over fresh any day on a burger. Lots of flavor, good salt, great bacon crunch. This lands in my top 5 burgers in Madison list.

Also one of the best bars in town. If you haven't been, you're missing out.
