Troy's Take

Poppy Bakery in Milwaukee off East Ivanhoe. Small little bakery, smells delicious, and everything in the case looks incredible.

My wife's bacon and cheese pastry was a 100% yes. The ham and cheese croissant might be one of the best croissants I have had in my entire life. So flaky, so light. I would just do slightly thicker ham.

First kouign-amann of my life. The person behind me in line said just get it. Buttery, layered, lightly flaky, and not overly sweet. This might be my favorite bakery item ever.

One of the best bakeries I have had in Wisconsin so far. Go early, because I heard it gets slim pickings a couple hours after they open.

  • Get the kouign-amann. Trust the people in line.
