Hundreds of you told me this was the number one rated bakery in and around Madison, so we finally made the drive to downtown Stoughton. If you love old school bakeries with glass cases full of donuts and prices that feel illegal in 2026, this is your place. Two donuts cost us $2.70.

It is not trendy, not aesthetic, not industrial chic. Glass case on the left, a few small tables on the right, downtown Stoughton charm everywhere. It feels like a place that has been doing the same thing for decades and never needed to change.

The cinnamon roll donut is the one. The icing melts immediately and the bread is pillowy soft, sweet without being overwhelming, and gone faster than you planned. The double chocolate with buttercream filling is one of their most popular, and once you hit the filling it is unreal: light, fluffy, not sickly sweet. I could only handle one of those, but one was perfect.

Family owned, sitting near 4.9 stars with hundreds of reviews, and people keep calling it worth the drive. They are right.
