Troy's Take
Nattspil in downtown Madison off King Street has one of the most unique menus I have ever seen. Not weird, just wide. Thin crust pizza, pulled pork sandwiches, Thai noodles, chicken fried rice. They take cards now, so you do not have to hunt for an ATM first.
Dark, small, quaint date night vibe. Not a lot of seating and there is almost always a wait. Four of us did apps and entrees for about $100, no drinks, which I did not think was bad at all.
Spicy cheese wontons were really good, they just came on a salsa, which threw me off. Shu mai are steamed, not pan seared, but the flavor and that sauce were bomb. The noodles had a great spice that was not overkill, and the thick sticky sauce grew on me fast.
Three cup chicken was the star. Powerful flavor, slight spice, out of this world sauce. Give me three pounds of it and I am finishing the bowl. I finally got in and I was not disappointed. Add it to your list.
