Troy's Take
If you like tacos that feel actually authentic, not I-put-cumin-on-it authentic, you need to hit Taqueria Jalisco. I went on a random Tuesday and walked into the best kind of situation: one dollar beef tacos.
The campechano taco, chorizo and steak, was the winner. Super flavorful, juicy, and with lime plus their hotter hot sauce it just simmers in the best way. The chicken taco was really solid, street taco size with the double corn tortillas. The one dollar ground beef taco was a little greasy but legit and tasted far more real than the usual fast food beef. Carnitas was my least favorite: not bad, just needed more flavor, though it got weirdly good paired with the beans.
Beans were good, rice was a little dry, and the quesadilla could have used more cheese and less chicken. Small stuff.
The space is awesome and a little weird in the best way: menu and kitchen right in front of you, seating to the left, a mini Mexican grocery to the right. Great value and the people running it are super nice.
