Fya Syde Kitchen on Monroe Street is run by Xavier and Nikki. Nikki is the food person. She has been featured for her oxtail birria tacos. Xavier runs the bar side. Long room, bar stretches the whole way. Cool vibes.

Everything has a Jamaican twist. Jerk, goat curry, oxtail, Jamaican barbecue fried chicken. I got the fried chicken with rice and beans plus festival (sweet deep-fried bread), and an oxtail birria taco Xavier talked me into.

That oxtail birria taco is one of the best tacos I have ever had. Dead ass. Unbelievably good. Now up there with my favorite things to eat in general. The Jamaican barbecue fried chicken was huge, sweet and savory, incredible with that barbecue sauce.

Tuesdays are FYA nights (reggae, half off Long Islands and margs, food deals). Sundays are R&B night with sip and paint. Happy hour Tue, Wed, Thu, Sun 4 to 6. Absolute gem. Amazing owners, food, and vibe. Go grab that oxtail birria taco.
