Stadium Takeout

This might be one of the most dangerously messy sandwiches in Madison, in the best possible way. You take one bite, look down, and realize your entire game plan for the day just changed.

It is not a hang out for two hours spot. Walk in, order at the counter, grab your food, figure out where you are eating it later. It feels like a Chicago sandwich shop dropped onto Monroe Street.

The Donfather is an absolute unit: loaded with beef, cheese pulling everywhere, soaked in au jus. If you have never had a dipped sandwich, the soggy bread might throw you for a second, but the flavor is unreal. The sneaky star is the Stella's spicy cheese bread, soft and full of character while somehow holding everything together.

Onion rings are solid, nothing fancy, better with a little salt. My wife got the Chicago dog and said it was amazing, and hot dogs are her thing. The homemade Italian ice is unbelievable and feels light after all that.
