Full Mile Beer Co. & Kitchen

I lost count of how many times people told me to try the wings at Full Mile, so I finally drove out to downtown Sun Prairie. They backed it up, but the wings weren't even what surprised me most.

These wings are massive and both flavors came drenched. The hot honey sriracha buffalo was the winner: first bite fell right off the bone, honey sweetness up front, sriracha and buffalo kick right behind it, phenomenal crunch and a great crunch-to-meat ratio. The Asian barbecue was solid, with real teriyaki and soy notes, just a little too saucy, which made it slightly soggy.

The cheese curds are where Full Mile really got me. Some of the best in the Madison area, with a dill ranch that just works. Do not skip these.

Eclectic brewpub energy: a fireplace, bookshelves lining a whole wall, a mural by Madison artist Zach Bartel, garage doors that open to a sunken patio in summer. Loud when it fills up, kid friendly, and exactly what I want out of a weekend spot.
