Troy's Take
A good barber is harder to find than a good bartender, and Blue Chip Barber Club on Madison's west side is one of the spots I trust when I need to look presentable. The shop leans into the classic barbershop experience without feeling like a costume party.
The barbers here handle the full range: pompadours, flattops, fades, beard shaping, straight-razor shaves and even shoe shines. It is the kind of place where you can get a precise fade and a hot towel shave in the same visit, then walk out feeling like you have your life together.
Appointments are the move. You can book online or call ahead, and they ask that you show up on time and give notice if you need to cancel. Walk-ins depend on availability, so I would not risk it before a wedding or an important dinner.
