Meat People Butcher
Meat People's Thursday sandwich is worth planning your week around
4106 Monona Dr, Madison, WI
This might be one of the best sandwiches in the entire Madison area, but there is a catch. They only do sandwiches on Thursday from 11 to 1:30 or until sold out. I ordered ahead, got there at 11:50, and they were already telling the line they were sold out. They sell out quick, and because of that I kind of regret making this video. But I am here to put places on the map.

What I ordered
Every Thursday is a different sandwich, so check their website, Instagram, or Facebook to see what is on that week. Mine was house made hot pastrami on a house made rye bun with muenster cheese, charred cabbage, creamy mustard, and pickled cucumbers. Sandwiches were $14. It is a butcher shop with some of the best meat around, so you already know we grabbed some meat too.
My thoughts on the food
That creamy mustard is so good. I normally do not love rye buns and this one was great. Then a thick pastrami bite, right at the butt of it. Oh my goodness, that is so good. When I hear hot pastrami I think spicy, and there is no spice in this, but the flavor is unbelievable. Packed with flavor, really fresh, and they cut it thick.
In my opinion the pickled cucumber actually balances out the rye bread and takes away some of that rye flavor. I do not know what else to say. It is good. Next week you will not have this exact sandwich, because it changes every single week.
The verdict
So glad I got my hands on this. I had wanted to go for several weeks. Meat People Butcher off Monona Drive in Madison. Amazing sandwiches, I cannot wait to cook the meat I brought home, and I am 100% going back. Great job all around.
