Hot 'n Spicy

We just stopped at Hot 'n Spicy on Monona Drive. They moved locations and now have their own building at 4604 Monona Drive, on the corner closest to the road. I have been recommended this place so many different times, and honestly all of their food looks so good.

• Beef jerky appetizer
• Angel wing (stuffed chicken wing) with hot and sour sauce
• Crispy noodle lad na with chicken

My thoughts on the food

I saw beef jerky as an appetizer and figured, why not. No way. That is quality beef jerky. It has this lightly sweet glazed flavor. I have never recommended a place based on the beef jerky, but if you can get your hands on this, do it.

If you have seen any of my reviews, you know I am obsessed with stuffed chicken wings. The angel wing is very lightly breaded on the outside, and with a quick dip in the hot and sour sauce, wow. One of the best angel wings I have ever had, if not the best. Packed with flavor.

The crispy noodle lad na was recommended to me and I had never had it in my life. It is their signature dish, crispy noodles, and I added chicken. You pick a spice level out of four. This was unbelievable. These chefs have to be nominated for something. I can see why they moved locations, because they deserve all the expansion and all the business in the world.

• All three dishes came to about 45 bucks, and the portions are massive.
• Hot 'n Spicy has been around for years. They used to be a small counter in the back of the Viet Hoa grocery store before getting their own space.
• Spice levels go up to four.
