Amber Indian Cuisine

This might be one of the best Indian restaurants in the entire Madison area. We are at Amber Indian Cuisine out in Middleton. Fun fact, Indian food is my favorite food of all time.

What I ordered

Lasooni gobi for $8.95, garlic naan for $3.95, and chicken tikka masala for $15.95. They also start you off with papadum plus onion, mint, and tamarind chutneys.

My thoughts on the food

Papadum is great, your standard papadum. Tamarind chutney has that little sweetness, mint is good, but the onion chutney was my favorite. So much flavor.

Usually I go gobi manchurian because I like it spicy, and I think I still prefer manchurian over lasooni. Nonetheless this was really good with a little spicy kick. Every bite is crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, exactly how gobi should be.

The garlic naan is so buttery, so garlicky, very fluffy, with a slight crunch around the edge. Some of the best naan I have had for sure. I went medium plus on the chicken tikka masala and the flavor is strong with the perfect amount of kick. The chicken is great quality. It does not melt in your mouth quite as much as some other places, but that naan and tikka masala sauce combo is incredible.

The vibe

Not strictly a buffet spot, they do a buffet on weekends at lunch. The only negative is the service was a little lackluster. Really nice people, they just took a bit and did not check in much.

The verdict

Really good food and some of the best naan out there. If you are in the Middleton area and have not tried Amber Indian Cuisine, go check it out. I will be back.
