Topgolf Madison

Wisconsin finally got a Topgolf, and it's the nicest one I've been to

6600 Topgolf Way, Monona, WI

I got in the night before Topgolf Madison opened to the public, and I want to be upfront about something: this was the nicest Topgolf I have ever been to. Some of that is because it is brand new. Some of it is because this is Topgolf's newest venue prototype, so they clearly built it with everything they have learned from the other 100-plus locations.

The Lowdown

  • Where: 6600 Topgolf Way, Monona, WI 53713
  • Opened: August 14, 2026, the first Topgolf in Wisconsin
  • Hours: Mon to Thu 10am to 11pm, Fri 10am to 1am, Sat 9am to 1am, Sun 9am to 12am
  • Two floors of climate-controlled bays with Toptracer scoring

Walking In

First and foremost, you walk into a massive bar. Wall of TVs, one enormous screen, plenty of seats. This is a legitimately good bar to watch a game or a UFC fight, and it is also a perfectly fine bar to bring kids to, which is a sentence I do not get to write very often.

There are arcade games and claw machines scattered around for the kids, and that whole space is paired with an outdoor patio that is honestly pretty damn cool. It is spacious, there is a good amount of seating and it seems like the perfect place to grab a beer and sit outside without ever swinging a club.

The Bays

If you are not familiar with Topgolf, it is essentially a gamified driving range. A bay is almost like the lane you get at a bowling alley. It is where you go to hit the ball, and there are a bunch of different games you can play, all scored automatically as your ball lands in the lit-up targets.

I went with my wife and my four year old son, and my son thought this was the coolest thing in the world. I did not hit them as straight as I really wanted to, but it was still an amazing time. That is kind of the whole point of the place. You do not have to be good at golf to enjoy it.

What I Ate

We got chips and queso, buffalo chicken dip, buffalo wings, their classic hamburger, and, because what in the world is a Topgolf trip without them, the injectable donuts.

If you have never had those, they are donut holes that you inject yourself with filling. Raspberry, chocolate and Bavarian cream. We went through every single flavor. The donut hole itself is a deep-fried dough ball with cinnamon sugar on the outside, slightly crunchy, and it is unbelievable. The raspberry was really sweet but good, and it kept falling out on me. Chocolate and Bavarian cream were by far my favorites.

My Thoughts on the Food

Out of everything I ate, I liked the buffalo wings and the queso the most, and obviously the donut holes, which are unreal. The buffalo sauce on the wings was awesome, one of the better buffalo sauces I have had. Sure, the crunch-to-meat ratio could have been better, but that is not what you come here for.

The burger was good too. My only gripe is that the menu describes it as a true smash patty and this was not really a smash patty, it was a classic hamburger. That said, it had a lot of flavor and it was really juicy, so overall it was a great burger.

Final Verdict

I am pumped Topgolf is here. It is an absolute perfect spot for a social night out, a family afternoon or a group thing where half the people do not golf. Go get the queso, get the donut holes and have yourself a good time.

Good to Know

  • It is in Monona right off the Beltline, roughly 10 minutes from downtown Madison, even though it carries the Madison name.
  • Book a bay online ahead of time, especially on weekend nights. This place is new and it gets packed.
  • You can come just to eat and drink. The bar, patio and arcade area do not require a bay.
  • Anyone under 16 needs a guest 21 or older with them at all times, and anyone under 18 after 9pm.
  • Order priority: queso, buffalo wings, injectable donut holes. Chocolate and Bavarian cream fillings win.
