Topgolf Madison

I got in before opening day and this was the nicest Topgolf I have ever been to. Brand new helps, but it is not just the bays. You walk into a massive bar with a wall of TVs, arcade games and claw machines, and it spills out onto a patio that is genuinely a great place to sit with a beer. It is the rare spot where you can watch a UFC fight and bring a four year old at the same time. Mine thought it was the coolest place on earth.

If you have never been, Topgolf is a gamified driving range. A bay is basically a bowling lane, except you are hitting golf balls at lit-up targets and the screen keeps score. You do not need to be good. I was not particularly straight and still had a blast.

Food actually held up. The queso and the buffalo wings were my favorites, and that buffalo sauce was better than it had any right to be. The burger was juicy and full of flavor even though the menu calls it a smash patty and it is really a classic burger. Then there are the injectable donut holes. Cinnamon sugar, slightly crunchy, and you fill them yourself with raspberry, chocolate or Bavarian cream. Chocolate and Bavarian cream win. Do not leave without them.
